Okay let's say I can take feeds of a video site (i.e. YouTube etc) and then display them on my site (i.e. 5 to 10 per video site) and let's say there are 6 different sites (i.e. 60 videos on a page).

Then when a user click on a video instead of sending them to YouTube or other sites I embed the YouTube player and play the video on my site.

Can I get sued or run into legal problems by doing this?

Obviously YouTube allows me or anyone to embed and play videos on a webpage, but if I took this to the next level would I experience any problems?

I wouldn't rely on replies from a forum for this. I'd suggest you consult a lawyer.

I personally do not think a lawsuit would happen but if it breached their terms of service then they would block you.

Therefore you should read through the terms of service for each site.

Hmm I'm thinking of contacting them. I guess that's the best way.

Read the DMCA and see if you can get an idea of your situation...consult a lawyer as well if you are really worried. In most cases the DMCA protects forum owners from liability if the content was uploaded by a 3rd party. So imho unless you are creating your own threads and inserting the videos you should be in the clear. However there is always new legal precedents being set on the web. Links are becoming more of an issue and sooner or later it will hit the supreme court and the legality of having a LINK to copyrighted material will be in question. Personally...I wouldn't worry too much over all this. It's standard procedure for most large companies to contact you first if there is a problem and send you a C&D. That's why I always use my real info on whois. If you try and hide they will only be forced to create a suit in order to get a court order for your information. At that point they may decide to sue you to recover their legal costs.

Anyways...I ain't a lawyer and this is my opinion as a domainer/webmaster.
