.in domains have been increasing in value these days, the question is, will .in and .co.in domains become one of the frontrunners in the in ccTLD industry?

I believe in .in domains but this is not just about my opinion, what is yours, what do you think?

It has the possibility to be one of the top few ccTLDs IMO, but it would still be a good few years before it really gets up there. Definately a booming market over there.

yup.

.in is a increasingly popular domain and could be... I repeat, could be the better one other than .asia.

.in market is booming with influx of foreign imports, companies and there's gonna be really competivie market for it.

well, i suppose i am camping som domains : )

It'll take few more years to gain wide acceptance.

I'm sure it will come to be a major player in due course, Time is always a great factor with domain names.

I think that those who spend time devolping their names will benefit more that those who just park and hope to make a buck or 2, just my opinion!!

I am a speculator on new tld's.

I'd say .Asia will be better than .in/co.in.

But .asia cannot be compared with extensions as co.jp, cn as these are better and widely implemented.

until there are actual end-users and development put into .ins, their value will still hover around the same. also remember that "reg fee" for a .in is different than "reg fee" for a .us, and this also plays into its value.

verdict for 2008: still too early.

the problem is the double option:

.co.in
.in

One should removed for the other one to take off.

I have a big doubt with this extension but that's just me.

I think .es has a better potential IMO

One of the main reasons .in domains are doing so well is because of the low affordable promotions on it. So it all depends how people feel about the extension when renewal time comes around. That is when we will really see wether or not it holds up to the competition.

India is coming up indeed, but China is rising up very fast too.

Not 2008

I don't think it will be in 2008. Even though I sold Tuned.in for $2,000 in 2007 , this is not the norm. There have been bigger and better sales. At the same time, I can't even sell a LLL.in for $30. I would find the best keywords you can, and let them sit. Oh yeah , just sold System.co.in for $100 (in euro). Needed some Christmas money, so didn't counteroffer too hard!

I would say we will have to wait and see for this one. Yes it is catching on but at a good pace. Rather than .mobi which was almost instant(hype). Which in turn could make a better turn out of the extension if it is eased into. Also, Inda is on its way to becoming really big. I wouldn't be surprised to see more sales in 2008 but also realize that the names will not be cheap and you may see a lot of good names dropping. :imho:

08? No. 10? Its a possibility.

No, in/co.in will not rule in 2008, but it will gain steam and garner more attention, thereby increasing its value, and profitability.
