Lets say they don’t have an ideal name in mind yet, and typed in a keyword (i.e. virtual) to search for domains. Just a hypothetical example, they saw / vir tual domininion / for 500 and / vir tual division / for 150.

(For arguing sake let’s presume division is better than dominion, and other better ones are above 500. Just a hypothetical example.)

They didn’t know which is better and had no preference. But they did have a budget of 500 or so. Question is: Would they think +dominion was better cos of higher price and bought it?

In many cases they will just type in a bunch of possible combinations until they find something available for reg fee. When you look at the domains that many companies use that is the only conclusion - the domain selection process is not something they give much thought to.

That’s true and many companies don’t even have a website, they just use social media. And many are even too lazy to update their social media. but you know that’s out of the point.
