.mobi Will dotMobi be the way to the „free“ internet?

IMO it seems like a lot of mobile web providers don‘t like dotMobi, because it could lead their customers away from their own mobile portals and therefore reduce the $$$.

i disagree. it's obviously gonna be a lengthy process longer than many, yours truly included, first hoped, but in the end .mobi might still get a slice of the mobile web pie. :imho:
