i mean when you see a web address from far it looks so similar

Every domain leaks to .com, .cam will likely leak even more so, because 99% of the general population has no idea what .cam is.

I think people who are not familiar with domains wont know .cam exists might end up seeing a website like: www.mywebsite.cam - if the link is not clickable and they have to type the link into their browser then I suspect many will assume that .cam is a typographical error and they would end up "correcting" it my changing it to .com

Yes as they look a like. And one can even further muddy the water fonting the 'a' to be more like an 'o'.


On the other side the 'a' way on the other side of the keyboard.


The key here will be regs that have zero to do with cams, video, photography can be thought as trying to profit off the dot com.

I don't think it's an issue. Look at all the close cctlds, .me, .be, .ie, .ae, .de, etc..

If you are worried, then print it in caps - CAM doesn't look like COM
