Last year, there was a lot of threads having 10 % «replies» compares to the 100% «view».
Today, there are no more threads having that 10 % ratio ; a lot have 5% ; many have only 3%.
How can we explain that situation ?

:bingo:

I found it hard to concentrate on development when I was constantly seeing petty arguments here. I'd rather spend my time somewhere where I can engage in focused discussion.

I second that. Could have been a real productive place if it was not for a few people. At least one of them is not allowed around anymore finally :)

I come here to read quite a bit but often don't take part in the discussions anymore.

Alot of the talk early on was about people's recent registrations and what people thought of them... Another large chunk -- as previously mentioned, was people arguing about the potential (or lack thereof) that mobi had.

Now that that's all said and done... Not as much to talk about imho. One of my favorite things to do was to comment on people's recent regs, but I really haven't seen much decent stuff regged lately.

Still enjoy reading the latest news such as rbc.mobi and the development of world and city.mobi though, just don't post as much anymore...

I don't join in discussions much but I do enjoy reading about new developed .mobi's and current mobi news!

Don't let the "naysayers" take away the positive energy.
If they send out too much negative energy, just ignore it.
Focus on postivity energy, and become successful.

One example: Tom Vu. He didn't let the naysayers put him down. He focused on his positive energy and became a multi millionaire (not sure about his status now)
Here's his youtube video (for fun) http://youtube.com/watch?v=jYqDS9i8zJw :p

:hehe:

Anyways, I don't think there are many naysayers who are just purely bashing .mobi. (Although, there might've been one or two around not allowed in mobi forum anymore)
We have to look at both pros and cons in order to reduce risk and change the investment strategy accordingly.

On the positive side, I'm seeing big companies adopting .mobi for the mobile version of their desktop/pc website.
Follow the big money right? :)

I like your take on things.

I certainly don't see dotMobi knocking dotCom off it's throne. However, I do see them having
very similar successes in their perspective fields, complementing one another actually.

Hi Reece

Hope you're reading this then... something more positive than some of the recent debates, some new regs to cast an opinion on; -

LANDREGISTRYRECORDS.COM / mobi
(suit affiliate use for UK land registry records service)

PROPERTYPRICEINDEX.MOBI (do I need to explain)

VDUBS.MOBI (Guess what? Volkswagens... of course ;)

A few more for my marketing / promotional / domains sub-portfolio; -

ONLINEBRANDS.MOBI
TRADEMARKDOMAINS.MOBI
TRADEMARKERS.MOBI
NAMEDROPPERS.MOBI
NAMEDROPS.MOBI
NAMESDOMAINS.MOBI

NOGUIDEREQUIRED.COM / .mobi /.net / .co.uk / .info / .org
(a little idea that I think someone could run with... PM me if you fancy a project).

I'm into my music related stuff... so these are in the cooking pot now; -
("disc" references can equally apply to cd's / dvds / blueray)

COLLECTORSRECORDS.MOBI
COLLECTORSDISCS.COM
COLLECTABLERECORDS.MOBI (UK spelling)
COLLECTIBLERECORDS.MOBI (US spelling)
OLDVINYL.MOBI
RARERECORDS.MOBI
HARDTOFINDRECORDS.MOBI
RAREDISCS.MOBI
COLLECTORSDISCS.MOBI

Any comments... (I know this isn't the appraisals section... it's just to keep Reece happy ;)

Regards

Gary

(It's so refreshing to know that the next post won't be from some a'hole asking for this thread to be moved to the appropriate / correct section of the forum... ;)

Just to add... (to answer the query that started the thread)

I suppose that there are always a large number of 'watchers' online who aren't members - so they view the posts but don't bother registering & therefore cannot post... I'm sure the mods have a better idea on those numbers..

For sure. And lets not forget companies that do not yet
have a .com site. And then there are always new companies
popping up everyday that will need websites as well.

I figure new companies will have a hard time gaining a
quality .com unless they have alot of money just to invest
in the domain name itself. Then there is development costs
and so on. A .mobi will be far less expensive and reach a
wider audience when all is said and done!
