When I tried registering a domain, it said it requires an postal address...
Will I be spammed with mail?

It's a requirement by ICANN to provide your accurate and complete mailing address, name, email, etc... when registering names for whois. If you don't feel comfortable giving out your address then an alternative would be to get a cheap P.O. Box at your local post office or to use a whois protection service.SquireQuack said:When I tried registering a domain, it said it requires an postal address...

The only unwanted mail I've ever gotten is from the scammers at Domain Registry of America for renewals so I don't think you have to worry much about your address. It's cheaper for spammers to send out bulk email than it is snail mail.

Though most people are more likely to listen to snail mail, becuase they think that spammers wouldn't bother to pay the postage fee =OChris said:It's cheaper for spammers to send out bulk email than it is snail mail.
