Why Is It Possible To Renew .CO.UK In Pending Delete Status?

I have been wondering why this happens with .co.uk domain names.

A domain name in pending delete status is always renewable, quite the opposite of the norm for .com, .net, .org

thee "other part" of this "always renewable" is $$$$$$. anything is "possible" with enough $$$$$$ like $80 redemption fee.

Registry policies are why. Within *.uk we don't call it pending delete. A domain name is suspended by the registry 30 days after the expiration date if not renewed by then, after which it remains suspended for 62 days and will not resolve. It is finally deleted 92 days after expiration but can be renewed by its registrant right up to the point of deletion.

Do you think this should be different?
