I made the following comment on the domaining tips blog with regard to investments in new TLDs but it is also applicable to investments in .TV, .CO, .ME and even non-traffic brandable .COM domains...
"...until one can see real companies developing, branding and buying aftermarket domains in new TLDs at prices that justify investing in them, what is an investor in these TLDs really buying?..."
Is there development (domainer minisites don't count) on .TV? There is a thread on the subforum which highlights many developed sites in the extension so regardless of its CCTLD status .TV is being used by developers and companies for video-oriented websites.
Are companies using .TV as part of their brand? For video oriented websites, I believe there is evidence that .TV is starting to become known as an extension for video and is part of the brand. Of course they can also opt for TV.com or TV.CCTLD in their local market.
Are companies buying aftermarket .TV domains at prices that justify investing in the extension? I will admit that quite often the development one sees is for reg fee domains and premium keywords are not acquired in the aftermarket for $5k plus on a frequent basis. Thus, we don't see a significant reseller market as end user sales are only occasional.
