Why I can't registered the domain

A domain which shows it expires on 26th june. But when i tried to registered it today it godaddy says it is already taken. How can it be possible?

usually it's 30 to 60 days grace period for godaddy then then put it into auction but they won't let it go.

even expired domain list do not shows it as expired one.

It takes around 70 (+/-) days from the expiration date for it to actually become available again. The owner has a grace period to renew it with the registrar (typically 29-40 days) then it goes into a redemption period that lasts 30 more days, and a pending delete period that lasts for seven days.

yes they do, usually 90 days before they expire.

don't know about that, never backordered before but from what i read from here, it's like gambling.
better talk to the new owner via email and see if he/she willing to sell

Good point to bring up. The registrar its at may determine what happens to the domain too. Network Solution names end up at Snapnames, Dotster names end up at NameWinner, etc.
