Why do you think most of the Graphic Designers use PHOTOSHOP??

I think it is because it is very easy to use and very convenient to handle too.!

What is yer reason?

Your reason is valid but I think it's popular because the way it is presented to the user i.e. easiest to use. Sure it is easy to use but there are others programs out there that are also easy to use. Just that *others* are not exposed much by the media to the public.

in my opinion, is has the widest range of funtions, and is very versatile. It is the best at what it does.

also photoshop has got a wide varitey of options. even though other software may specialise in maybe one area, photoshop is slowly becoming a specialist in almost all areas. so makes sense to learn it

It is very easy and it has a lot of powerful options. You can go from the most basic gradients to masks. It is good for all designers.

Maybe it's because Photoshop is a native Mac program and most graphic designers program with a Mac.

Maybe it's because there are so many "designers" out there using warez version of Photoshop.

I, being a graphic design student don't use soley Photoshop. Granted, I use it the majority of the time but it depends what I'm trying to acheive in my work. Sometimes I'll use Corel Draw or Illustrator for vectors (something PS isn't good for). and to say Photoshop doesn't have a competitor is stupid. The GIMP is totally free and is just as good as Photoshop. More and more people are using it now because they can legally. Whereas alot of Photoshop users are, as HHDomains, get cracked versions.

Although some of its competition, GIMP, is FREE there arnt the same features.

I think it has to do with the fact that it is very popular. When a new designer sees everyone talking about Photoshop and they surf the web and find tons of info on Photoshop, they decide they need to use Photoshop. I use Photoshop sometimes, but I personally prefer Illustrator and other programs. Once you really start to get into designing, you start to use a lot of different programs!

Yes, this is true. I tried the same with Corel and it burned my toast.

i agree it does everything, but photoshop's main purpose of being made was for photographers to get their photographs exactly how they wanted, designers stumbled upon this little beauty by accident, but i have to say it is by far the best programme out their for designing websites and banners, but i think everyone should use a vector based programme for logos......

Its simply becoz its an industry standard... a lot of help is available... its very very flexible and effective. its the best thing to happen..

no wonder every designer uses photoshop becuase even if u have used photshop once and used other programs as well, u wud immediatly notice the difference, the feel of the program is such that one like to use it. its so easy 2 use and learn.
