My understanding is that Pending delete status is a status that lasts a few days right before a domain expires.
However in many cases I notice that domains are in Pending Renewal status months after it expires. Specifically at Network Solutions. They change the nameservers to ns.pendingrenewaldeletion.com and the admin email to pendingrenewalordeletion@networksolutions. And the domain stays in this status for a full year and then it is put up for auction at Namejet a full year after it first expired and went into pending delete status. Why do some names get put in this pending deletion status for a year while the majority of domains are in pending delete for just a few days? Thanks for any information about this.
