Drop websites? after they are listed.

I was looking for a search engine submitter for one of my sites and it said if I wanted to auto submit my site like every 3 months.

Resubmission is unnecessary. Once a site is in a search engine, it's in unless it gets banned for trickery. There is no reason to re-submitting a site to a search engine.

Well, the company would want you to resubmit becuase the submittion process never works for every search engine every time.. so you do it 3 (for example) times to make sure your site is included in as many as possible

I do agree with twm on what he said , you submit and you need to find out if your website is indexed , then the Resubmition is not necessary as peter said ones is already indexed because robots will visit next time for the new fresh data

Most of them say that for the obvious reason of wanting you to come back to their website and resubmit. As long as you are not blacklisted, the search engines won't "forget" you.

My recommendation, don't do it.

You're basically spamming a search engine by submitting it over and over.

You can't spam it, the duplicate is automatically deleted if it's in the crawl list, but there's no use in resubmitting.

I have to add my views. Do not spam search engines with submission requestions. The best way to get indexed in major search engines is to get links from high priority sites pointed your way, the rest should fall into place.

Agreed. Submitting an already indexed site is just not a sound practice.

Don't mess with the search engines, the last thing you want is to be banned.

ahem... you appear to be all wrong (lol - don't wanna sound too harsh)

The point is, if you keep submitting your website through a website/script then a search engine will think that you are spamming them, however, as long as you do it manually then a search engine will love it. The point is that search engines like:

a) Sites that are updated often
b) Sites with history

Now, if your site gets updated every day, then a search engine is likely to revisit your site everyday of its own accord, but if you have a website and you haven't updated it for a month, or even a week or so, then I would resubmit it. This tells the search engine that you are still there working on the site, it also tells them that there is new content that it needs to look at. Lastly, if your website was already in the index of websites then it sees that the website has a history and will rank your site higher.
