Why do my sites never have succes?

I own 5 sites for now :

*adult site*.com -> Sex video updated everyday, makin 5/6 cents per day
Proxyle.com and MaskedSurf.com -> Proxy site, no revenue
GrabThevideo.com -> download flash video, 50 UV/day, no revenue
Rap24.info -> program to win money


but no one of these sites has the succes i was waiting for...

How does this come? should i invest alot of money in promotion? could anyone help me with somes?

You've done the easy part, putting up the web sites. I could put up 100 websites every day just like those. Anybody with basic skills can. The hard part is getting masses of people to go to your site and enjoy it enough to come back. That takes either lots of money, time or marketing skills. By the way, your post has been edited. whelp If you have the skills and resources to promote your websites search engine ranking to the highest then that will certainly bring in the desirable traffic that earns from ads revenue.

Think about that.. there's really a lot of traffic from search engines.. google, yahoo, msn etc. Those are free high quality, converting traffic and one must learn proper SEO to make it happen.

From what I've read about websites it's all about learning SEO and getting backlinks to your sites - you need to do a search on Google on 'SEO' and see what tips you find - you could also try earnersforum()com

Put time and effort into setting up promotions or advertisements...

no site just becomes pr 10 and makes 400 million a day in revenue..

promote promote promote and seo... those are the cheapest and really most cost effective. once you build up revenue you can start buying ads etc to help take the ease off. but really figure 85% or more of your time marketing. just the way it goes.

The thing is we all know it's promote thats the key but the real question is how to promote.

Keyways to advertise your site are, email lists, myspace bulitions, google, yahoo groups.

We all know theres more ways but i recommend you look into a few of these ideas.

the best way to start your promotion is to buy a piece of software called axandra ibp and arelis available at http://axandra.com/. (im not affiliated)

this software will automate and semi automate your submission process, its updated frequently.

the other feature is getting links to your site, in your target keyword area which arelis helps you accomplish. takes some work but this package is killer.

a good site to get good links on is link2me.com its a directory of people who want to swap links.

Adult site - There are more videos on the internet then the people who are will be watching them.

Proxyle.com and MaskedSurf.com - If someone did made some revenue just don't go for it. There are more proxy sites then the surfers who are going to use it. Plus the Click rates are very low on it.

GrabThevideo.com - No revenue because low paying keywords.

Rap24.info -> program to win money - Again there are more programs on internet then the people who are participating in it.

Think something unique or around some theme but with a twist. Work hard on its construction from Choosing a domain name, design and development, Keywords, SEO, content, marketing, maintaining it and giving the users the best that they can get on your site so that they will not go to some place else.

I guess you have to come up with something you feel people can be addicted to - and something visitors can't find anywhere else.

Promotion will get you nowhere if there is no interesting content on the sites. Content is king, now more than ever. Adult, video and proxy sites are a dime a dozen.

You need to think outside the box. Come up with a new idea, or significantly enhance someone else's idea.

The main thing is to provide real value to your visitors. If there is no value, they will not stay. Promotion will not help. You have to be interested in the project, and it has to show. This is the only way to get any significant traffic.

Moneywise, the traffic needs to convert, and the keywords should be high-paying. It's not an easy combination, and even if everything seems to be in place, you may still struggle.

I know, I spent 2 years making a very informative website on a topic I am very interested in, and also a qualified expert in the field. People are interested in it, too. My SEO was successful, Google appreciated it, got some high quality backlinks, now it gets about 2,000 visitors daily, all seems good, but there's practically no income.

It's hard to justify the hours spent if there is no reward, so I quit developing it and moved on.

Summa summarum: It's hard. It's very competitive these days and there are no guarantees.

Alternatively, you could just acquire some premium keyword domains, set up optimized minisites, do nothing else and let the money fly in through the doors and windows

PS. checking your sites, I bounced (navigated away) within 2 seconds from all except grabthevideo.com, that's a handy tool, but I downloaded an Eddie Izzard clip from YouTube, but ended up with a file called "get_video" that doesn't work...

I had a similar experience to Josh_1 with your sites. I bounced back from all sites except the video download site, and when I tried it, it didn't work.

My recommendations:

1. Try to find some appropriate content for these sites (for example, the proxy sites could have an article of what a proxy is and what it does for people browsing; I bet 90% of those browsing don't know what a proxy is). Appropriate content will surely have the keywords you need. Don't just replicate content from other sites, but do something original, attractive. Of course, this requires work. Get some NP$'s in the NP incentives discussion by completing tasks, and invest those by paying somebody to Edit your content for good grammar, spelling, and flow.
2. Divide your content and tool in a couple of pages well connected.
3. Social bookmarking like evilopinions suggested.
4. Active SEO: Submit to google, ask, yahoo (maybe make a sitemap [XML])
5. Patience
6. More patience
