Hey all!

I have bmwlovers.net that I'd like to park/list under my new Sedo account.
I know, I know... it's worth reg fee, but I just wanted to throw it on there.

Anyways, when I try to list it, Sedo says I can't because it could be a possible "TM" issue...
However if I type in the word "bmw" under the search list to find websites with that keyword, other websites containing the word "bmw" are listed.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

No, I don't think you're doing anything wrong, it just means that your domain has met their filter requirement. There are other "bmw" domains listed there too, so your best bet would be to contact their support to see what can be done.

Question
Can I list a trademarked domain with Sedo?

Answer
Sedo requires sellers to verify their domains are free of any potential trademark or other intellectual property infringements before listing them for sale. Sedo, at its discretion, may block certain domains from our site and services if they have a high probability of violating the intellectual property rights of a third party.

For more information about listing acceptable domains, please review Sedo’s Rules for Domain Sellers.

Yes, you are doing something wrong.

I don't want to seem harsh but I think you're playing games.

Exactly what "other" use of BMW are you a "Lover" of?

Sedo would be putting themselves at risk if they allowed your domain to be Parked
and feature automobile and BMW ads.

If Sedo did accept your domain for Parking and blocked all automobile and BMW ads
from appearing, then your Parked domain won't earn any $, so what would be the point?

Why exactly did you register BMWLovers.net?

The way I see it, you're not going to fool anyone.

:imho:

Hey, you asked! ("Am I doing something wrong?")

You would be better off considering development of the site, as opposed to parking it and offering it for sale, as a site for BMW lovers.

Hmm, I just did a search on Google, and bmwlovers.net comes up in the top 5-10 results for BMW lovers... and there seems to be some content; why don't you try and capitalize on the decent SERP positioning and build it a bit?

A word of caution, we manage several automotive enthusiast sites and BMW has been know to go after site operators using their TM in the TLD.

Just my opinion, of course. :)

Hmmm..

Sedo won't allow a "BMW" domain but they sure seem don't seem to have a problem with Honda, Acura, Chevrolet or Mercedes Benz (and who knows what other ones). Huh!

Interesting...

I know I shouldn't be posting here if I don't have any info about why you can't put your site in Sedo's list......but I couldn't help asking how you managed to get your site to the third place in Google for bmwlovers.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your input.
Honestly I don't know why I registered this wasteful domain name. I guess it's because I'm new to the market and I just don't know what I'm doing.
@SiddFisher... I have no clue how my website is third in Google for the search term!
