Hi All,

I am on terrible streak at Flippa. Why are my names not selling?

How can i improve the sell thru rate?

They are not terrible names.. I have seen names of lesser quality sell for more.

I have spent homepage feature on at least 5 names.

So what type of names does sell here???

Here are the names that are listed and didn't sell except one.

LBGT.me - 1 bid - $51

DhakaRealEstate.com - 2 Bids - $50

Piztol.com - No Bids

CuckooClocks.net - No Bids

SmartDrone.co & MyDrones.net - 1 bid - $50

Eligible.me - 2 bids - $20

JumpStart.me - 1 Bid - $140

SmartCartridge.com - No Bids

88Betting.com - 1 bid - $150

Bitcoins.fish - No bids (Ok i get this one :)

MorganMint.com - 1 offer for $1 twice...

UsedBoards.com - Sold for $400

I appreciate all constructive feedbacks. JT,

Fortunately or unfortunately, selling a domain at auction is one of the best ways to find out its true value.
Check sites like Namebio, dnpric.es and dnsaleprice for recent sales and figure out what keywords and extensions sell best. You can't fight the sales trends, you need to follow them and only buy names with keywords that have sold in the past. The best predictor of future domain sales is similar past domain sales.
Good luck

Looking at your list?
There is not one domain there I would pay reg fee for.

Honestly, I'm surprised that some of those names have bids. Even solid names aren't selling for as much as they could have sold for months ago. Right now, Flippa listings aren't getting that many views. This is, in part, due to over-saturation.

@iowadawg, Lol!!! Ok So what kinda of names do you buy? Could you share some of your names?
@Shane - Thanks. Is there any other platform would you recommend?
@distlej - Thanks.

None of the auction platforms are going to magically sell domains that no one wants to buy.
Lack of sales is not caused by the auction site, it's about the domain name you are selling.

Again...Look at historical sales at the sites I mentioned to figure out what to buy. Note the keywords that appear in the names. No one is going to tell you what to buy...

@distlej edited your post slightly, but your point is exactly what newbies fail to see

they are so focused on "what kind of domains, sell where" instead of "what type of domains sell, period."

imo...

I have terrible experience at flippa as well. I have received many offers at namepros for my names much better than flippa bids for which I paid 9$!
I now started to distrust most of their sales .
may be it is me, as other people have much success with worse names than mine

Don't waste your money on homepage feature for flippa ... they are worth exactly nothing (2-3h of exposure in this period with their promo).

Are you doing any pre-marketing of your auctions? That may help.

I would not recommend bringing any of those to auction; UsedBoards.com was a nice sale, IMO.

Feel free to reach out to [email protected], and we'll recommend some strategies moving forward. That might include uploading domains to your Flippa Portfolio (for free), or starting 1-2 auctions to test the market (which we'd be happy to provide credits for). Just reach out, attn. @Devoir Funches

I am giving flippa last chance now with my two auctions there. And that's it. I've had it enough to see how flippa helps some sellers and don't do this for the others. Well - good luck with Ali and a couple of others. I'm done with flippa.

Most of the bids are fake. Most of the sales too. Their fees for upgrades are crazy and you get nothing for $350. Or the homepage featured - $50.

I've spent so much money there - for nothing. Actually I put these auctions with their free credits - they won't see even 1$ from me. Not anymore.

@FlippaDomains, you don't have to answer this one. I don't need to reach out to [email protected] .

-- Mind sharing what they are?

Most of the bids are fake.

-- Proof?

Most of the sales too.

-- Proof? Verified weekly via Flippa.com/blog, and DNJournal.com. $800k+ in sales last month and < $3k reversed.

Their fees for upgrades are crazy and you get nothing for $350. Or the homepage featured - $50.
-- If you email [email protected], we'll look through your portfolio and help you pick out domains to bring to auction, as well as offer subsidies and free credits to assist. If we don't think your domains will sell at auction, we'll recommend you upload your portfolio to the Domain Portfolio Section, which is free.

I don't need to reach out to [email protected] .

-- Cool, best of luck to you.

Proofs? I can give you hundreds of examples, but I don't need to. I think that namepros community knows this very very well. In fact you know this too. I don't want to argue with you and I don't have the time to do it. Do your business as you wish. I stated my personal opinion.

I don't blame flippa for my lack of sales. I blame my early pigeon s*** domains. TBH your doing a lot better than me. Hopefully what's in my portfolio now will do a lot better.

@FlippaDomains,

In my opinion there is a lot of divide in your membership.
Some members get all the help while others are just ignored. I thought the business model is to make profit out of domain sales commission, not showcasing domains for a ripoff fee... domains which are never going to sell unless you are the right member with the right privileges.

To give you one exact example (you can match my user here to your user on flippa too see it's not BS):
I put a domain up for auction yesterday with you and selected the homepage feature roll or however you call it thinking it would ... well ... roll.
You wanna know for how long it stayed on the homepage for 49 "credits"? It was there for only a few hours - something like 2 or 3 h. Of course it did not roll again even though it's called feature roll or something like that.
You wanna know how many views I got in those hours for 49 "credits"? Less than 10...
You wanna know how many bids I got? None.
And the domain was not that s*^##y...
So ... is it worth 49 credits? Well ... you do the math.

Did you know that some of the members that are more "privileged" ask less "privileged" members to list nice domains on their behalf? Probably you do know and you also know that there's a commission for that as well.

So if you wanna sell something worthwhile on flippa you gotta pay the sale commission twice leaving you with 65% - 70% of the sale at best.

You say you provide credit for helping - the credit that you mentioned above if for normal auction which doesn't get exposure. As far as exposure goes even sedo is better for the free listing...

This is of course my personal opinion and experience. I might be wrong or very very unlucky.

@mcbean187381, I've had my share of PS domains :)
I have made profit in almost all the domains i have sold in flippa but the problem lately has been the margins. with huge flippa upgrade fees, listing fees, commissions, paypal fees, escrow fees, bank wire fees, and on on...the margin has been laser thin. Plus the influx of new tld's, made decent names (i know most replied here aren't favorable of those names but i have sold many for profit with similar names in the list) harder to sell.
Also the hard part is acquiring quality names at a decent price is impossible lately...

You behave like a newbee trying to understand Flippa but you already are a superseller there with 40 transactions totalling $11,306 makes me think this was a strategy post.
