Whois Update delay?

I was just wondering, is it common to have whois updates to be delayed? If you register a domain name, the whois usually updates within 1 min right?, or is it common to see whois not update for around 1 day

Might depend on the registrar.
.info always takes alittle longer for me though,
but only by a few hours, not a day.

it depends on the extension as well, .com/.net/.org updates like real time for me on godaddy

then i assumed it updates in real time except it's in another unknown registrar/reseller.

but i can vouch for this real time for .com updates on godaddy.com

.com registry updates whois around every minute, use a site like iwhois.com which queries in real time vs. whois.sc/domaintools.com which caches results.
