I like namepros so I'll reserve using the term "sell out" although that what this is right??? A complete sell out of the site.

...hardly a sell out - as mentioned already NamePros is FREE but that does'nt mean bills don't have to be paid :) .... would you feel worse if NP asked for a $25 membership fee ?

(I would'nt cos its worth waaaay more than that to me)

We can discuss the effectiveness of advertising until we're all .... orange in our faces - i think when we look at the thread at hand, the user numbers, speed of responses, questions, answers, complaints and praise alike - i think we can all agree on the common denominator: This type of advertising DOES work. It got your attention, it prompted many to look at Rick's site and sign up for the newsletter.
Granted, the colors are a bit harsh, but having said that, read the whole paragraph above again :P

If it was that cheap, everyone would do it.

Now that's just funny.

I don't mind it for a short bit. Why not go all out though and give a special code to those who signed up for the newsletter that would let them change this back to normal.

I can't believe the people moaning!, the advertising is not to my taste, but it has worked and if it makes Namepros some $$$ than great.

It has not, nor will not affect my enjoyment of NamePros, It is the substance of the site not the style that i come here for.

Good luck to Rick,and RJ!
