Well according to Apple if you want a brand new iMac and you live in Europe then you'll have to pay a staggering $456 more to get your hands on it. It's nice to see that Apple love Europe so much.

Would they actually lose any costs if they charged the same price in Europe as they do in America?

Perhaps it's not that the iMac is more expensive in Europe - it's that it's cheaper in America!:) So put it this way rather: Apple loves USA.

$456 in my country is already twice my monthly salary.

$456 in my country is already twice my monthly salary. That means your salary is only ยฃ100 / month in the UK. How many hours do you work?

This is nothing new. A lot of the time electronics are priced at the same in ยฃ as they are in $. IE if something is $1000 when it gets sold in the UK it is roughly ยฃ1000. At todays exchange rate that makes electronics here in the UK over twice the price.

456$ Is alot of money to some people. But if you are Mac/Apple you have really nothing to worry about. I mean who can live without a Mac?

Who can live with a Mac?

I mean it would be horrible, the constant worry of being a social outcast.

(I'm just joking ;))

They're not manufactured in the US (contracted in Asia), so it shouldn't be the shipping costs. They can only blame EU taxes and off-US-headquarters costs of doing business... which... still doesn't justify the big difference.
