Obviously there is a problem at whiz.in, with its support, if people need to post on a forum to get hold of someone.

Real good look.

I believe all significant registrars have had threads on Namepros at times when things have not gone perfectly --- moniker, godaddy, enom, etc.

This is a new issue that has come up just today. I have been trying to work with Paypal to get this thing resolved.

I confirm the fact the Whiz.in Customers are not able to add funds to their account. However you can continue to Register domains if you already have funds in your account.

We have been answering all the support requests as usual. There is no issue there. We are generally very quick in answering emails.

I am not sure how long will Paypal take to close the issue, since they have been asking for various documents from us.

I will keep everyone informed. Please bear with me. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

:tu: Even though I have had to go elsewhere today, I didnt wish to. I have heard and read so many good things about Whiz. You being here keeping everyone up-to-date just inforces the good customer support you and your team have. I wish you a great 2008.

PayPal "asking for various documents" is pretty serious. I would be interested in knowing what exactly the problem is.

good luck

Thanks dnb8 and mellowmarsher

colin72 - Paypal limits the account for security reasons. They are asking for Utility bills for address proof. This is the 5th proof they have asked for till now.

Since this is the first time I have been Limited I am not sure how long will it take.

Unfortunately Paypal is the only Gateway I was using. As lessons learnt, now I will have to look for other options, so I am not at mercy of them to do my business.

I feel bad for you. PayPal can be horrible to deal with. My advice would be to politely press them for a resolution and keep in contact with them. Otherwise, things could drag on and on.

I agree ... excellent support from tk ... im going to sit and wait until whiz.in resolves thier issues rather than find another registrar. How's that for a faithful customer!
You have the community behind you whiz.in
Cheers

Hi, sorry if this is a silly question, but is it still possible to buy whiz.in domains using NP$?

I have a list of 15-or-so domains that I'm in a huge hurry to register, but I don't want to go anywhere else. :(

I don't know remember where I read the post but someone said that right now whiz can't take any type of deposit of funds (including NP$). You can only register if you have funds in your account.

I know how you feel about being in a hurry to register!

Drat.

It's no use... I'm going to need to find a temporary alternative. Just until things get sorted with whiz.

What is the next cheapest registrar for .INFO and/or .IN? I need one that has the same setup as Whiz.in, (by same setup I mean the same menus and everything. Same template). Oh, and one that is reliable :(

Estdomains.com

I've read many places online where people say to stay away from estdomains. Google the two words- estdomains spammers -and do some clicking and reading.

I would have loved to use Estdomains but not after seeing people's comments.

I am anxious to register a bunch of domains and waiting for Whiz.in to get back up is becoming very painful. If I could find a trustworthy place that wasn't much more expensive than Whiz.in, I'd go for it.

I gave up waiting and found what seems to be something better (sorry Whiz). Mitsu.in is an accredited .in registrar according to INRegistry and has a good reputation online.

Mitsu.in's prices are even cheaper than Whiz's. Whiz = $3.93 for /in and .co.in.

Mitsu.in:
.in = $3.60 ($3.45 if buying any 10 .in domains)
.co.in = $3.30 ($3.19 if buying any 10 .in domains)

I was registering about 140 names so I actually saved a lot of money.
