Which types of developed sites work best?

to those who have developed sites that would be in different categories, which types of sites/minisites tend to produce the most income? Loan and credit sites, cellphone-related sites, etc? I have several different types domains I've been wanting to develop but I'd really like to put my first focus on one that can earn a little, so I can have some money coming in from that while I focus on others.
Have any of you made minisites and income-producing sites using blog-based software? Blog tools make setup really easy and I like being able to edit and update things more quickly than I can in HTML.

It really depends on what you have to offer

I can't imagine there are too many sites around these days that are completely unique. Or at least ones that make money.

What I am saying is, that whether or not you decide to go for a Ringtone site, a Wallpapaer site, or a Gaming site, etc... it does not matter if you do not have good content. Content even trumps design, I think, at least to a certain extent.

So, if you do a Ringtone site, for example, and I also have a Ringtone site, the one with the most/best ringtones will likely make more money. Now, if you ignore design to the extent that the files are hard to download or the navigation is so cluttered that no one can find what they want then your site will be doomed regardless, but I have read articles about sites that make anywhere form $1000 - $5000 a month and the desingn of the sites are not really that great, but they give the customers what they want...

I should clarify: Let's assume that you have developed sites that are equal in quality of content and in the quality of domain name itself, and that these domains are in different fields. One might be about loans, one for gaming, etc. All things being equal, which field(s) tend to bring in the most clicks and cash?

If you are just going by industry then think about how much professionals charge/make within their respective fields. Lawyers and doctors make more than car repair people, so guess what? They'll pay more per click.

Well, if you are talking adsense then it is well known which ads pay the most per click, but the other factor is how much a company is willing to spend to advertise on your site. That is dictated mostly by the relevence of the content and the amount of traffic to the site. How much they pay you depends on how good of a negotiator you are in some cases...

You can also check out adbrite and blog ads and see how much advertisers are paying based on traffic....

Some sites/blogs make thousands a month from these programs...

I have had success with celebrity fansites running Adsense. I have also set up a few video game related sites powered by Wordpress blog software, and I am happy with that set up as well. As for the most money, loans, credit cards, domaining, and identity theft websites all perform very well. You could also go for the infamous Mesothelioma, but thats a very developed niche already, and that will be hard to get up and running. Good luck!

I do believe adult sites can make you money, but I still have not figured out how.
you can't use adsense or ypn. How do you make money if you don't have the dirty pictures yourself?

hard to get them started but TGP sites do work... plus going over to gfy and trading links helps a ton!

There are several list of highest payable keywords over the internet.

In my experience, I own several AdSense Minisites and the best clicks so far have been related to "Loan" topics, like the ones in my signature.

My minisite www.credit-loan.org gets clicks paying over $1 which is a lot compared to the usual 1 to 5 cents in many other topics.

You can also check Overture bids to get an idea how well specific words pay, of course adsense clicks will pay differently but its not likely you will find words that pay well on one and poorly on the other..
