Which has more value word1-word2.com or word1word2.org

What is the consensus on this purely from a domain value point of view?

I'm contemplating purchasing one and would like to know what you guys think

Take 'web hosting'

If you had the choice between
web-hosting.com

or

webhosting.org

which would you take?

I'd have to say I'll initially go 'webhosting.org' for me... it has more authority as a type-in imo. Though 'web-hosting.com' may also be a fair enough choice if the keywords in there actually have a space in between them and are of great value as well...

web-hosting.com would almost definitely sell for more. .org just isn't business focussed enough.

It depends on the keyword itself.

I would rather have CancerResearch.org or TaxAttorney.org than the hyphenated .COM, but for many commercial keywords the hyphenated .COM will be more appealing.

i avoid hyphens if possible; just my own personal thing.

i would probably not reg either - i'd keep looking.

they both have equally low-ish value to me, but again, like others said, it can depend on the KEYWORDS.

Both of those examples are legit and would have very nice value.

In a realistic situation, the unhyphenated would probably do more justice.

It's more appealing to a certain crowd.

Some crowds prefer .orgs over .coms (Schools, lawyers and anything else legal or organization based)

If it's the case of onlinegames.org vs online-games.com (I'd probably go with the hyphenated.

So it's truly case by case.

Well, obviously anyone would go with web-hosting.com. Web-hosting. Org simply does not have the same power and prestige as that of web-hosting. Com. Take any website for example. How many websites do you know has .org in it and even if there are some, if you can compare with. Coms you can see that there is a big difference in everything, mainly the designing of the site! However, the information may still be the same on both ends!
