I can't decide which domain to use.

I'm going to be creating a community forum for forum administrators.

administratorforums.com
admin-forums.com

Please help me decide.

Thanks.

Any suggestions?

I don't like either of them. The first one is too long. The second one has a dash.

I almost think ForumAdmins.com would sound better........but I assume that name is taken. I would use out of the 2 administratorforums.com and some serious seo work ....the dash I really hate honestly.

Second one is much better.

I think first domain name (without dash) is better.

admin-forums.com is better

Well after observing the success of webmaster-talk.com and avatar-forums.com, it's obvious that domains with a dash in them doesn't mean they won't be successful.

For some of you that posted, I wasn't asking if you liked the domains I posted in the OP, so please, read the thread and try again.

You are pretty rude for somebody who is asking other people's opinions. Both of your domains are rubbish.

It doesn't really matter which one you use as any value / popularity would not be down to the domain name.

Plural implies that it is a directory of forums.

There is nothing wrong with buying a decent, relatively low cost .net in this case either.

If I had to choose between these two, I would use admin-forums.

I'm not rude. You just don't know how to properly respond to a simple thread. I understand they're rubbish domains. Do I care? Absolutely not. Did I ask whether or not they're rubbish? No. Learn to read before posting.

Once more, try again.

This is a domain forum. Expect comments about quality.

I would go with admin-forums.com between the two.

Yes, because your own opinion about quality is in fact a great way to answer a question that has no relation about quality.

Both of your domains are low quality.

The question is how do you prefer this fact to be told. Do you prefer people telling you your domains are crap and you don't understand from domaining or would you prefer another approach that doesn't put the blame directly on you?

"I don't like them" is softer than "both are low quality" which is why I said it that way. You seem to be stuck with the part about me liking them or not. It is common to use 'me' language instead 'you' language if you are trying to be polite. Have you never heard of this concept?

Go waste your time and money with a low quality domain. Most people here understand the importance of a good domain when starting a new project, which is why people are trying to suggest you should get a better one.

If we're talking about an easy looking domain for your forum, I would go with the 2nd domain. The first one is too long.

As you pointed out, you're not looking to simply sell the domains, and understand there might not be any "value" in the domains by default... so if you're just looking to start a forum and you're wanting to know which one looks better, I think personally you're looking at admin-forums.com

I would, however, try a different domain, just for the sake of maybe getting better results with it. :)

I apologize. I really didn't know we can only discuss about high quality domain names here.

Should add that in the rules somewhere to avoid future conflicts like this. Or heck, make a whole new section called "Low Quality Domain Names Discussion" or something of the like.

-_-

If you are in a domain forum and ask which domain I should use it is natural that some domainers will say don't use both. You don't need to be so aggressive when people are trying to help you avoid making a mistake. Probably you are going to spend some money on vbulletin and lots of time on customisation. Also it is not easy to change the name half way through.

If you are in domain business and you don't pick a good domain for your own website, what kind of message does this give to people about your expertise.
