Where To Advertise Domains (but not to other domainers)?

Where should one go about advertising (not soliciting) domains to end users? For example, I really like how Domain Shane will put your domain in his articles for a fee, but what about non-domaining related sites where end users frequent?

Any ideas? There is no substitute for good ol fashion bokerage / salesmen skills, by contacting potential buyers, but what about the potential buyers who don't have a business yet and are looking to start one? Where does one go about advertising to folks like that?

Find forums, classifieds, and websites related to whatever niche you are targeting. If someone has a popular newsletter, offer a percentage to offer your domain through the newsletter. Craigslist, local paper classifieds, etc. Many ways to find them.

They're all good suggestions, thanks! I thought about Mags, but I don't know about any that have an advertising model like Domain Shane (25 / particle mention, 2 / day for top of header link). If you know of any please do share!

Does ebay have a good record of being a good market place for domain selling? I haven't heard of one decent sell, but that's possibly because I haven't really paid attention. I've known and seen domains on ebay for years and they mostly look like chicken shit domains...

ebay used to be a good place to sell domains. Its not a niche for selling domains but had the traffic. In recent times (last 2-3 years) I think its getting less good for domains as people are now going elsewhere, and popularity of flippa and co.

yes 95% is crap, but the fixed price lasts 30 days and there is a group of buyers that buys regularly.

A sweet spot for sales is the $100 to $2000 range.

I just sold a $2 hand reg for $500 by emailing about ten or so end users and pointed them to the ebay listing

search the keyword "domain name" on ebay and select sold listings, plenty of sales happen there
