1. Legitimacy

The registry in .PT may be requested by Collective Entities, singular entrepreneurs, liberal professionals, public entities with administrative autonomy and any person/entity if they are the owner of a Trademark.

2. Name Composition

The name of the sub-domain must obey the general conditions described in articles 8 and 9 of the Regulation for .PT Registry, as well as the specific conditions for .PT , as described in article 11 of the referred regulation.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The sub-domains registered in violation of the referred rules will be immediately removed by FCCN, without the right for any kind restitution as described in article 33 of the Regulation.
The Domain registered may be the target of a juridical verification, being requested the support documents for the registry. This Verification will be made by sampling in the terms of the article 34 of the Regulation


3.Way of Registry

The request of .PT sub-domains should be submitted on-line at www.dns.pt or by way an Agent of Registry accredited by FCCN.

4.Costs

The registry of sub-domains in .PT is subject to the following prices according to period chosen for the registry:

1 year: 22,00 Euros (plus VAT at legal tax);
3 years: 45,00 Euros (plus VAT at legal tax);
5 years: 65,00 Euros (plus VAT at legal tax).

The first payment must be made by ATM or by VISA at the moment of the online Submission of the request of the sub-domain. After the confirmation of the payment and the verification of the data according to article 33 the sub-domain will become active. This price of maintenance covers the costs of management and maintenance of the sub-domain, since its activation until the end of the time limit for which the domain was registered, and in case of non renewal the domain will expire.

You need to register a brand or you need to be a company.. If you have a trademark it shouldn't be a problem. I've one.. But I live in Portugal.. Just go to dns.pt a read about it!

I'm also portuguese and I don't have any .pt
I hate paperwork, and I don't like deceiving, so whether you have a valid trademark, or as I seen plenty of times, you trick them and hope they take a while to take down the domain (while you cash in, parking it). It's sad.

Anyway the process of creating a brand is ~55€ plus 19€ for .PT! Then if your brand is approved (which takes 1~2 years) you have to pay 300€!

At least we don't have a lot of junky domains...
