Hello friends,
how do you sell your domain names? I have three that I would really like to get offer for sale but pricing is also a problem. I don't want to price it too high or too low.

They are : cloudVERTIZE.com and is currently listed at sedo. I would like to know how I could sell this name quickly as possible.

cloudINTERCOM.com was listed on godaddy but never sold.

Also, sellphone.co never sold as well.

Please help with constructive critism. If you see no value, boldly say so.

I would really appreciate your comment as well.

Please drop them and stop wasting your time & money or such names.

Cheers

There is tons of information here on the forum. You just have to take the time to read it.

Try reading through the threads in the newbie section above. Look for thread titles that ask questions you have yourself...

Also you can search terms like "domaining" or "domainer" ... you don't need to buy a book it's all on the internet for free

Nobody is going to spoonfeed you. There are a couple books about domains but they will only take you so far.

IMO spend some time on the forum, analyze the reported sales and read read read.
You need to understand what makes a domain valuable. First of all, never ever register a domain you wouldn't develop. Also put yourself in the shoes of an end user. Would you buy your own domains or would you look for available alternatives ?

Few domains will ever sell, and there are millions and millions of domains on sale. Everybody wants to sell.
But the reality is that there are more sellers than buyers.
If you're not making any sales it's normal. The only way is to have domains that would appeal to a wide range of possible buyers otherwise you're just playing lottery.
Selling one name - everybody can do.
Repeating the same feat again and again - not everybody can do.

What gave you the impression that domains are that easily sold for a profit? Did you fall for the hype as well?!

Potatoes can be sold any time in the market if you offered them slightly cheaper than the seller standing next to you in the same market but domains are not that type of commodities - imagine if they were and you could sell every domain for just a dollar profit then you could sell may be a thousand a day and make $1000 profit in one single day - so no amount of discount can sell your Pigean shit domain I'm afraid.

Newbie domainers always remind me of some guys trying to show off their newly found ugly girlfriend to their mates who have a better taste in girls and would not date ugly girls just for the sake of having dated a girl!

So I'm afraid in this game you will have a very hard job of selling your ugly domains since domainers are far more astute than the guys who would date ugly girls :)

So if I were you I would stop hand regging immediately and spend a few months on studying the science of what actually could make a valuable domain name.

Your post is very immature, if I were you I would refrain from such analogies on the forum.

On topic, sorry but I don't see any value in those domains.

jideofor, this is the identical info I told you, you need to read and there really isn't anywhere to start from, except maybe the newbie section

Books will not help with domaining, everything you need to know is right here and the other forums

Just start reading

Loosen up, mate! I thought it was an entertaining and appropriate analogy. Furthermore, we need to drive the point home that the OP should stop registering crap domains.

We've all been there, though. It's tempting not to pick up domains that seem good. But it's worth waiting for the right names! Patience and lots of research will get you the gems.

Personally, I'll only pick up a name if it's a clear "duh" or if it's for a personal project. The "duh" domains are the ones I can easily see someone making me an offer on or ones I can put to work in the meantime, be it with parking, a minisite, or a full blown business. I won't mention how few actually get to the latter stage, though. :hehe:

I know I am late to the party, but I got beers :D.... No seriously. Try developing them and get them traffic? I think CloudIntercom has a small potential. Nothing big, but it could be converted to something.

As mentioned before, reading lists of completed domain name sales prices should definitely be part of your reading.

Many who are starting out measure their "success" by how many names they hand registered, when in reality they should be measuring their true success by how many names they managed to restrain themselves from hand registering.

Selling ok quality names is hard and tedious work. Selling low quality names is like trying to sell turds.

Wow wow wow... I had forgotten about this thread and I have been busy with school stuff.

Gilescoley and everyone else who have taken the time to post reply here, I say thank you.

At gile, your recommendation is noted and highly appreciated. I will start studying and stop registering.

What do you guys have to say about expired domain names.

I once came across redcross.us

copper-mine.com this one had a 9 years life before expiration, but I didn't register it till someone else did.

Good and even great (and also tons and tons of bad) names expire every day. However, you won't be the only one trying to catch the good ones. (And again, before you try, you have to know what the good ones are and how much you should pay for them).

Red Cross is a well known trademark, so I don't know what you could do with it unless there is some company that has managed to procure a trademark for "Red Cross x" such as "Red Cross Hats" and MAYBE you could wait and hope that they happen to approach you and make you an offer (EDIT: Actually, if a company has the trademark "Red Cross Hats" but does not have a trademark for "Red Cross", then I think that you can approach them about redcross.us. However, I am not 100%sure. Hopefully someone can clarify.) and hope that in the meanwhile Red Cross does not take the domain from you, but I doubt/don't know if any company has such "Red Cross x" trademark.

Not sure what you would do with copper-mine.com. I don't think that copper mines advertise on the web, but I could be wrong, it would not be the first or second time.:p

Now, if copper-mine.com was digital-camera.com, then go for it, but good luck getting it.

These are horrible names and you will be lucky to sell them much less fast. The sellphone.co one could probably sell but it wont be for much and you won't sell it fast.

Using a bit of humour never hurts unless for those who haven't got much of it to get the idea :) luckily for me you got the idea :)
