Your'e probably right, either the photographer left it till the last minute to take the pic and then speed off in a car, or he was caught by surprise by the monster but still had the guts to stop for a few seconds. From what I hear tornados are pretty noisy, so the second possibility is highly unlikely but not impossible. There could also be another story behind the picture.maximum said:Yes, Gill, this was one brave photographer. However.......
There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity :notme: OK, the photographer here was brave for sure, and not totally stupid.....But, you have to admit, that close to this monster, that atleast a bit of stupidy was involved too :o
Yes, never thought of that idea. Would have to be a pretty robust tree to survive that monster. beep, beepmaximum said:Set the tripod and camera up...leave running like the RoadRunner.....come back after the fact and hope your $xxx camara set-up is still bolted to the tree and that it got a good shot :hehe:
That picture is not using a zoom lens, in fact its a wide angle lens , possibly a 28mm. You can tell its a wide angle lens in that the electricity pole on the left is tilted to the right and the barn on the right is tilting left and anything in the middle (like the flag pole) is straight.Isis said:hopefully that was a camera with a powerful zoom feature....
like...you watch nature shows where it looks like the camera crew is right there with a den of lions...when infact they are very far away lol
it was in iowa ChrisChris said:Great photo...which tornado was this one?
the explnation was in the site was it was a very quick one; it was in the ground just for a few secondsdgridley said:I have my doubts it's an authentic, unaltered shot, but it could be.
