Hello,

I think the title of the thread is clear. Lets say i backordered a domain through snapnames. In that case, is its age being reset? (means starting from 0 age again)

Usually yes. The true drops will be actually deleted and re-registered a few milliseconds later.
But there are certain domains in the drop lists that keep their creation date like the expiring domains from Network Solutions offered by Snapnames or the expiring domains from Godaddy that are listed on TDNAM. These domains have gone through grace or even redemption period but were never deleted.

So, will the domain i will buy from snapnames in 2 days keep its age? When anybody check it, will s/he see it in the previous age?

And i will try to keep its pagerank by adding frequently updated content. Any other tips for keeping pagerank?

And by the way, what google see is also important, will google consider it as old domain too?

Interesting info. I saw this happening before but did not know how.

Yes, for a faster PR try to keep its content similar to waht it had before, you can find it at WayBackMachine.

Yes, it is very important for Google. I have a site with only one page, just a few back links but it was egistered in 1999 and never dropped, it has a consistent PR4.
