When to start selling adverts?

Hello,

When can someone start selling advertisements on their website? When i mean how much traffic the website needs to have to start selling advertisemnets.

there's no simple answer to this question because how much you charge will be based on your traffic, your website category, and also the visitors. i.e., you can start selling adverts at $1 a month for 10 unique visitors/day or $10 a month for 100 unique visitors/day.

also keep in mind that some people sell advertisements from their website based on pagerank-only.

hi, i just want to clarify that there aren't really any "regular price" for traffic and the numbers i used above are very rough estimates as it can depend on so many factors including type of advertisement, location, etc etc.

there's no rule of thumb but what advertisers look at these days are cpa meaning per action or per sale basis not cpm (visits or displays) which give them more value for their money, if you get frequent or if not at least regular sales from your banner on your site then that's the time advertisers will consider it worth buying.

As long as you are getting targeted traffic to your site, you can monetize it.

A good indication that your traffic is targeted is when a visitor also visits your inner pages. Their length of stay is also something to be considered.
