Hi all

Just wondering what your monthly bandwidth is.

My site hit 400 Gigs last month and is so far on track to do about 1.5 terabytes this month. From what I've been told, this is a huge amount. Thank God for unlimited Bandwidth hosts :)

So anyways, what are you getting?

The Netherlands seems to be alot more than the others :lala:

Just out of interest, who did you go with for the hosting/server in Australia? Cheers..

well the guy I partnered with there (Paul) has his own server that was being used on a domain he doesnt use anymore.. hence the sudden free space of 500 MB's for additional videos (I was already beyond my limit by about 400 MB's.)

I've just set up the website and have just submitted to search engines and put my link here and there... My monthly bandwidth for December was a mere 20MB, but there's no content, really. Its not flash and was designed to be as fast-loading as possible. My max. allowable bandwidth is 500MB. That's becuz i use a FREE PHP/FTP host.

And yes, btw, I get very high netherlands hits too ( about 20 percent ). Wondering why..

Hey LeeRyder, I read somewere that if users get real crazy on the unmeter bandwidth, that they sometimes get a friendy letter from their host telling them they are going to drop them? I don't know if this is true or not, but that is something to watch out for. I hear that they just say the bandwidth is unmetered hoping that most people will not use alot?

Also with so many visits a day, is it possible to sell your exit traffic and/or has anyone every tried selling their exit traffice and how does that well does that work?

Anyway sounds like great success with your site. Congrats.

LeeRyder, I am testing a small script for this at my site at http://www.bigdog2.com So when a person leaves your site another site comes up in the background. There are certain outfits that will buy this exit traffic to send to other sites wanting traffic. I have never used a service like this, but wonder if anyone has and how they might have liked it.

correct. You dont have to just charge membership to earn revenue. Setup some google ads, or sell advertising space.

Also, If you are pushing this much bw monthly, Id really suggest getting a 1.4TB EV1 server. They are only a few hundred a month, and with your ammount of hits, google should be more than able to pay for it.

Also, you could try limiting the filesizes uploaded, how many times they are viewed, etc.

Many ways to set up restrictions without making the site die. Trust me, I have been hosting images (only) for almost 2 years now, and have had much success.

If you need any help with anything, just PM me.
