I was thinking of trying reselling of webhosting and was wondering what you guys would pay MONTHLY for this setup:

300 mb of disk space
3 gigs of transfer

I was just wondering what people would pay. $8/month or so?

In my hosting company in Croatia this kind of a hosting package would not be more than 3 $ per month.

First of all, today MB are not so much importand as Data transfer (aka BW - but not the same, BW is different thing).

F.E: my hosting co. offers this for 7$ per month:
- 200MB disk space
- 20GB monthly data transfer
- 150 POP3 mailboxes (unltd fw-ers, autoresponders included, spamassasin)
- 10 parked and 3 addon domains in account
- 10 subdomains
- cpanel, webmail, web filemanager
- FTP, SSH2, POP3, IMAP, SMTP
- webalizer, raw data
- 3 mailing lists
- PHP, MySQL, Perl, CGI, SSI, FP, JSP, PostgreSQL...
- preinstalled scripts...

well if thats ur reseller plan. It sucks. A domain could go though that in like. 2days if that...

But if its for customers £15 p.a if that. I got my own reseller plan

I'm not gonna do reselling any time soon, but i might at some point. BTW: thanks for being honest

Hmm, Kodeking Id suggest selling 5GB Transfer packages for around $5 a pop since you couuld still earn a fair amount at that price.

suggestion

i would suggest you decrease your amound of space form 300 to around 100 and increase your bandwidth to aleast 5gb. that would work good as a basic plan

Could go through what in two days the bandwidth?
Not really, if any site is pushing that kind of bandwidth they should be considering co-loc or dedicated

We host hundreds of sites and only 1-2% come even close to their Bandwiidth quota.

Cost depends on the server, the conections to the backbone etc etc. Lots of people offer 3-4 per month hosting. Most of the time you will find them on little RAQ servers with 200-300 sites on the server (if not more) .

Bottom line with hosting 75% of the time you get what you pay for. If you want fast servers redundent connections etc etc you will pay more.
