For those who have been in this for a while, whats the most you ever profited? You dont have to ID the DN if you dont want to.

My record sale is $1250. The site had PR 2 on about 10 pages, DMOZ listed, high DA, but the funny this is, the buyer didn't want the site. So after I sold it, the next day I regged the same name with another word added on and forwarded it to the old site. In the end I still had the site and all that PR.

What did he end up doing with the domain?

Nothing massive, yet anyway, do have a good stash of gems that could reach that point down the line. Most of my sales since 2003 are in the 1-10k range with a few over and a few under. Not many under though as I usually need x,xxx or better to get my attention. All of my domains are basically $8 drop pick up .coms so I guess in terms of ROI can't complain. Highest one I recall on a $8 investment was around 13k profit. My game has always been more ROI based so don't need 100k sales posted on the big sales board I just need an $8 investment to turn into 1-10k and I'm happy which is still possible today but was a little easier to do 11 years ago when I started.

He tried selling a teen driver education course. For about 4-years he had that on there. It held its PR for those years, but when he let it expire some domain grabber got it. Today there is no site on it and it lost all its PR including DMOZ.
Since you asked, I'll tell you the name- it was driverstory dot com. Just a few months ago I got an email from them (because I have a similar site- see signature) asking if I was interested in it. I told them I was the original one who regged it in 2001, and I would buy it for $40 if they want to sell it. They never answered me.
