So I bought a domain on e-Bay, just because I liked the sound of it (I realize this isn't normally the way to go about buying names and it's the only one I've done so with) - iVoot.com

I've had it parked for maybe a week and I've noticed that it gets a decent amount of traffic, so I decided to pull it off parking and develop it into...something. The same goes for several of my other domain names, I'm going on a developing frenzy these next few weeks.

I installed WordPress, figured that blogging was the way to go since I could easily update it daily and get plenty of natural traffic in that way. The problem is, I have no idea what topic I should focus on. My first idea was to just go with a generic blog and watch trends to see what people were searching for and make some quick content daily to pull in search traffic...but I realize from a SEO point of view it's best to get your "niche" (hate that word) as narrowed down as possible.

So. What does the word "iVoot" remind you of? What theme would be most appropriate for it?

A friend suggested "voting", she said it was sort of like "iVote" and could be some sort of humorous political blog in light of the upcoming presidential elections. Though I'm not really a political person and writing about politics would get old real quick.

Other than that, what possibilities do you see? What would you do with it?

EDIT: I just realized that maybe I should have posted this in the website development section instead. I mostly frequent Domain Name Discussion and completely forgot that other sections exist! Sorry :red:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

If it gets a decent amount of traffic, find out where the traffic is coming from. If you have backlinks, find out what sites they are coming from, and what those sites reference. Search Google for a Backlink Checker to find your backlinks. That should give you an idea of what your visitors are looking for.

Also, check out www.woot.com for a site built on a similar sounding name.

Maybe a typo with w in place of v....that redirects to a large looking shopping site. High end tickets, perhaps. like a sharper image focussed site?
