Which of the following would you guys rate as THE most important aspect of buying a domain with the sole intent being to flip it...

1. Length of domain

2. Ending of domain (.com, .net, .tv., etc.)

3. Age of domain

4. Traffic searches the domain name gets

5. Backlinks

6. Competition or lack of competition for that domains market

7. The amount of end user prospects to potentially make a sale to

I understand ALL OF THE ABOVE are important, but, trying to get a gauge of what some of the more experienced flippers use as their "checklist" when buying a domain for re-sale.

Pipe in...

For flips most important is the .com
and searches of the keywords.
Age helps out for popularity and links making it more attractive to buyers too.

Unless you prefer making $5 / domain, then .com is the most important.

At least imho.

First most important - having many potential end users. When looking at a name for resell (rather than for developing) I've passed up buying or regging a lot of what seemed like good names, just because I couldn't find good clear end users that I'd try sell them to.
Second - having dot.com extension. Not an absolute must, depending on the quality of the name, and who the end users are, but most often it's the dot.com you should be trying to sell.
Third - (not on your list) having the exact keyword match. Better to have entertainmentGuide.com than try to sell MyEntertainmentGuideOnlineToday.com with all those extra words. Domainers try to sell those all the time, and end users just aren't buying, unless you somehow strike the lucky lottery end user who thinks it's an absolutely fantastic name and thank you for contacting him and how quick can he pay!? *I've never found that end user :)
Occasionally you'll find a buyer who doesn't mind that extra word, say MyEntertainmentGuide or EntertainmentGuideOnline... but there are so many variants once you start adding those extra words, your chances of a sale go down and down and down the more words you tack on to the exact key phrase. Better to spend 200 clams on an aftermarket exact keyword match, than start tacking on words so you can buy a name at reg fee. IMO :)

Hmmm. My recent sales have been a dot in (a domain hack), dot com (3 word), dot me (4 letter kwd)and i currently have an offer on a 3 letter kwd dot mx....so i would have to say if it is a strong keyword with all other xtns taken and difficult to add variations to it then that first especially if it has a bit of number 7 in it!!
