I know some sellers will push a buyer a name is minutes after a purchase.

In your mind - what is a maximum reasonable amount of time that a buyer should wait for an ownership change?

For example - say it's changing registrars ... is 30 days ample maximum time or might there be some cases where it might take longer?

As a buyer, the longest I have seen was a couple of weeks. 30 days seems like a long time.

Excellent feedback Traveler - you both shared your experience - 2 weeks being a long time and the fact that 30 days sounds too long. Thank you kindly:)

Everyone's a little different. It also depends where the deal took place. Generally though, 2 weeks seems to be a max cap before people start getting extremely agitated and anxious.

Private - one on one: What ever time you 2 specified
Brokered: 7 to 14 days (Or otherwise agreed upon)
Marketplace: 5 to 14 days (Or otherwise agreed upon)

(Note: NamePros has a default 5 business days policy to complete a transaction unless otherwise specified in the deal thread).

@ Eric - really nice detailed info - many thanks!
@ David - you and me think alike. I wish everyone attended to matters ASAP.

Overall, the NP 5 biz days is a good policy. Up to 2 weeks is normal. Hence 30 days is beyond normal but would give ample time for newbie mistakes, etc, etc. Thanks again!

I know what you asking....

but for those who are leasing a name, it could take years before the "change of ownership" occurs.
