Because every time someone reports a brandable domain sale in a conversation, at a forum, in an email or even on a brandable platform itself, I write it down. I’m keepin’ a list. Checkin’ it twice. And trying to find out what’s hot and what’s not.

What’s interesting is he mentions 3 brandable marketplaces and 397 sold names.None of whom publish their sales data. We only on occasion see a name posted sold here or on Slack. I’ve been watching the public places and don’t know how he obtained sales data on 397 names in a few months publicly. Only one I am not sure about what they reveal is BR.

Without an actual list of the alleged 349 reported sales, the article is a fluff piece at best, and click bait at worst. -- imo

Where's the negativity? I'm trying to be helpful by letting the author know that the information provided isn't as helpful as it should/could be. Purposely withholding information is not cool. The author could take it as constructive criticism, or as negativity which you apparently took it as.

I think there's a lot of negativity in general. I know you are very helpful as well @Grilled in a lot of ways. I'm probably overly sensitive to seeing it now.

When I examined the words contained in the hybrid and keyword based domains I was surprised to see there were zero sales with popular keywords like chain, cube, cyber, buzz, buy, call, card, cash, chimp, click, code, care, digital, crowd, fit, fuel, geek, health, link, local, market, media, mobile, ninja, robo, sale, sell, stat, space, stack, swipe, style, tap, travel, talk, web and wire.

This is a good observation. My explanation for that would be, that popular keywords in first part of list were mostly used as base for new gTLD extensions, and now end user can register some of thoe meaningful names directly in the new gTLD space, which thus becomes competition to legacy brandables which contains those keywords.

The keywords in second part of the list are (mostly) not yet available as new gTLDs, therefore the strong trend of them as brandables continues without major changes ..

From which one can conclude, that when it comes to brandables in .com, it is good to focus on keywords which are not yet available as new gTLD extensions?

Some people are just tough critics. When they're tough (or insensitive) it just means try harder. And equally so, when they give a compliment, it's means it was earned.

Let's just say that unless you're putting together lists with auction links, creating content for the domaining industry isn't particularly financially rewarding. So, when someone puts together a resource/report/data that you can benefit from as an investor, be thankful instead of trying to find a negative angle.

There's absolutely no incentive for Keith to share what he shared. It's soooo much easier to just keep it for yourself. I, for one, hope he doesn't and keeps sharing.

... or instead of classifying it as a negative angle, take it for what it is -- constructive criticism.

If you want to be constructive try writing something along the lines of "this data is not useful for me without a list of actual sales because of A, B, C" instead of "fluff piece at best, and click bait at worst".

I know your intentions are good most of the time but your execution can use some work.

no, actually that's not the way it works

we are living in a world of information
a lot of information
too much information for most people to handle

just information is not something to be happy with

especially when it gives no clear guideline
