What's happening to the internet?

Is this just another million pixel website? They appear to be spurting up all over the place.

Sites, now in their hundreds, are attempting to copy the www.milliondollarhomepage.com concept. However, hardly any have shown any innovation or desire to improve upon the existing concept.

Could this pattern be coming to an end?
A new site: www.pumpupthedots.com has just gone live. This time, the concept of selling pixels, and helping websites increase traffic flow to their site, has vastly improved with a new growth ability – ability for the advert to increase in size with popularity. Nothing has been seen like it on the internet.

Yeh, it is our site. Sorry it wasn't meant to be an advert as such though.
There may not be a great amount of content on the site - consider it a gateway for people to move from one site to another. The number of sites that are popping up now shows that this is an inspirational concept, and it's not stopping. Sure, it may be a little crazy at the moment, but even when it settles down again, they will become part of 'the norm' on the internet.

And when the only cost is to actually host the site, money-wise, these sites really can't fail. It's a win-win situation for all.

Answering the question about 'growth ability' - basically, your 'dot' will grow as it becomes more popular. For example, if the dot has had less than 30 clicks, it will be at 'size 1' (10x10 pixels) - but once it reaches 30 clicks, it grows to 'size 2' and onwards to eventually become 50x50 pixels. I hope that makes sense.
