What's GoDaddy got that Name.com hasn't got?

I have a bunch of names reg'd at GoDaddy, and have recently registered a bunch at Name.com. I'm thinking of just transferring the rest to Name.com because Name.com has a quicker leaner interface and cleaner faster registration process.

Some have said Name.com is good, others (in 2007) expressed concerns over support responsiveness. Is anyone aware of a serious problem with Name.com, or any security issues, or technical issues I should be concerned about?

Name.com:

- Very easy to use control panel and the website loads much faster because of less cluttering graphics.

- Fast and friendly customer support

Go Daddy:

- Customer support, Grace deletions, and Girls!!

I prefer to reg domains at name.com but sometimes i can get a really good deal on bulk registration through godaddy if i call them up. Other than that name.com beats godaddy in every other way. I usually transfer my names to name.com once renewal comes around at godaddy. Been using Name.com since 2007 and have ZERO problems with them at all, god i miss $5.99 REGS.

Personally, I think GoDaddy has the best control panel on the planet. The checkout is awful, but the control panel is awsome. You can store and search for domains every which way. With thousands of domains there, there isn't any good alternative, imho. Name is also very good. Fastest checkout and domain name resolution I've seen. Name is my 2nd preferred registrar after Godaddy. Have hundreds of domain there. Their control panel is pretty fast too but not the features of GoDaddy. I also like the Godaddy's version of "Magic Folders". Other places I have hundreds of domains are eNom & Fabulous.

I think GD has absolutely the worst control panel. It's almost unusable to me.
Enom is #1, I also like Moniker. A have a couple of thousand domains just at eNom, and managing them is a breeze.
GD is absolutely a mess.
It all comes down to personal taste/experience I guess.

Godaddy's checkout can be streamlined by filling out a buyer profile and selecting quick checkout. Not only that, but you can set renewal preferences and nameserver preferences so you don't have to change those each time you reg a name.

I just learned this myself, as it seems Godaddy spends more time promoting breasts and butts than promoting features that we might actually want to know about.

As for 'free privacy', I take care of that. My contact name is 'Domain Admin', my org is a cool 'contact oriented' sounding .INFO, and the e-mail goes to [email protected], the phone # is Google/voice and the postal mail is a UPS mailbox. So I no longer need to pay anyone for privacy or (as in the case of answerable, pay more for the domain reg for 'free' privacy).

Wow... in one single lurking I already learned more than I did before I got here

talk about an ROI

I invested what? ... 10 mins to register, 5 more for my profile, less than 3 more and I hit paydirt

sky? you just made my evening and saved me possible headache for the domains I'd rather NOT list publicly
