if you can register both, i go for both. :imho:

That will mostly depend on the name and the two words which will be separated by the hyphen. If the name has two strong keywords then the hyphen will be somewhat helpful. .net will be good too as it's the next preferred extension after .com. So it basically depends on your preference.

I think people are getting more and more used to hyphenated .coms...so, I agree with the above...get both if you can.

Tough one. Hyphen might be better for SEO (that's not 100% fact, though).

Personally, I don't like hyphen domains. I think it is much easier to market a non hyphen .NET than a hypen .COM. :imho: Have a nice logo and really STRESS the .NET in it. Harder to do that with the hyphen.

I think regging both may be best and if it were me and I was developing it, I would use the .NET and redirect the hyphen .COM to the .NET. I would forego any possible SEO advantage of the hyphen .COM and go for the more marketable .NET as the main site.

if you are going for type in i would say .net as myself i never type in a hyphen, although for a site not relying on hyphens its in the balance

People tend to forget hyphen , so .net would be better . but why not take both names ?

it really does depend on the name and what it is being used for.
All things being equal I would go with the -.com

.net for sure!

In this case I would take both. Brand the site as the .net and redirect the -.com to the .net. Good luck.

I think i would get .com. There are many great sites using hyphens, so it shouldn't be a problem :D

It's easier for people to remember a .net than a hyphen. Just make sure when you publicize the site you emphasize the .net

i'll go with .net and then hyphen

hyphen decrease the value unless its a really good name

try getting both but if you can't go with .net

good luck

I'd also suggest going for the 'hat trick' approach, and getting the .net version of the hyphened name too. That way you can brand the .net's and catch the redirects from the .com.

Good idea, I think. Boy, starting to get kinda expensive now, though. :hehe:

I recently regd a domain with 2 hyphens...

Dont-Be-Evil.com

No interest in selling it though. I just want to put up a site that sticks it to Google and their policy of hypocrisy.
:hehe:

I disagree. Hyphen domains have their purpose, I think. Especially .COMs.
