Hello, I am undergoing some research on what YOU would like to give in return for hosting. I would really appreciate it if you could answer this question in the poll and reply why you have chosen that option. :xf.love:

Quick Scenario
You are looking for free shared hosting and not willing to pay any cash, yet you are willing to give something in return. At this moment, you do not care how much Bandwidth or Storage you are receiving.

What would you give in return?

A) Ads
You will have an advertisement forced at the footer of your site on all pages.

B) Posting
You will need to make certain amount of posts per month on a forum.

C) Header Frame
You will have a frame at the top of your site which will overlap your site if you scroll down too.

D) Footer Frame
You will have a frame at the bottom of your site which will overlap your site if you scroll down too.

After you have voted on the poll, please reply why you have made that option.

I'd say ads in the header - not a frame and not in the footer

I don't think I would even be interested in such a service. Its been done to death by the geocities and such.

Do remember though, you are responsible for whatever content people post on such sites.

Including illegal music, phishing sites et al.

At the moment, what I'm thinking is this:

"To put up a footer frame that has a small advertisement of text links as well as the logo of my hosting company (with link back) - Not higher than 18px. However, the frame could be removed if you make a certain amount of posts per month."

I would love more answers on what you would give in return to help me decide on what to do :)

Hi Hi Captain :)

I would prefer the Posting option, and your last suggestion of removing after a certain number of posts sounds ok, how would you be able to confirm or check how many posts you made, in the host control panel acct, or is it script or something etc ??

I'm going to be using iPanel, it has an automatic feature of Post4Hosting. At the moment, I'm not entirely sure if I will be able to make it so that if certain amount of posts made would remove the forced ads. I will let you know as soon as my host sets up my account.

<-- Wants more people to reply with their opinions :)

I'd prefer giving few text links - in the sidebar if thats preferable...

Nothing is worse than having a hosting overlay bar on a website, Id vote small image ad/text links. Because posting would probably get old eventually.

Text links are better for me to have.
