I know its not much but If you had $3000 in hand right now how would you invest it in the domain business?

What extensions would you buy?

Why?

Would you develop as many as possible domains into mini sites?

How would you deal with seo issues on mini sites?

What's the maximum you would pay pay per mini site?

Would you buy or build one major site with one domain?

How would you monetize ?

Any input is appreciated!:xf.grin:

I'd invest $1500 of it in domain names related to Ramen Noodles. I mean, many different extensions, misspellings, combinations, flavors, like:
shrimpramen.png

Because not too far into the future you're going to be using your PayPal account and your bitcoins to buy Ramen noodles, because there isn't going to be a lot of food to be had. And Ramen noodles will be prized commodities. And you know at some point you're going to want some shrimp ramen noodles, and when you do, you're going to go to...

shrimpramennodles.com.

And with the remaining $1500 I'd buy up as many Ramen noodles as I possibly could, because now is the time! They're going for cheap right now. But in the near future they'll go for a premium, and I'll be prepared because when that day comes I'll have an entire underground bunker full of them, and I'll have all the Ramen domain domains, and I will be...

Lord of the Ramen.

Impossible to answer without knowing your knowledge about domains and your selling skills. If your knowledge and selling skills are at least OK create buying thread at some forum where you can find uneducated sellers and go fishing for one gem at $3000 and resell it for $xxxxx. Safer bet would be .com, but if you are really educated you could be after some other extensions. Good luck!

Or simply purchase some liquid domains such as LLLL.com from sellers who are short with cash, and then try to find end user for them and get high $xxx or more, or resell them to other domains for small profit.

No, no. There are no TM issues with ramen, especially when you don't capitalize the first letter, like you would a domestic proper noun (vs. a foreign one).

Anyways, by the time any kind of TM violation could go through the system, the world economy would collapse, leaving a new currency. (At last the world would be united in their recognition of the fact that Ramen noodles are the standard for trade.)

So you see, you might come up to me on the street and wonder if I know anyone who could get you a dime bag of "Maruchan". And I might have a dime-bag of "Maruchan", but if you want seasoning, that's extra. In fact I might let you try "Maruchan" for free, with seasoning, but if you want more, next time you're going to have to pay.

That's right. Your first hit of Maruchan is free. But don't forget who your Daddy is. And no, I'm not talking about GoDaddy.

Hello,

I would invest them in dropping .COMs and good dropping new gTLDs.

if you can get traffic and sponsors\adwords\affiliate products, definitely do that. If you achieve that each site makes $100\month on autopilot you just need to follow the volume business.

How would you deal with seo issues on mini sites?
if you want your minisite to rank well you need to laser focus on a micro niche. Create good content, regularly update, build an authority site in that niche to outrank the competition.

What's the maximum you would pay pay per mini site?
depends on the niche and the revenue potential. I`d say at least $300+

Would you buy or build one major site with one domain?
The more you care for your moneysite the better are your chances to become an authority. If you`re good at something (i.e. fishing) dig into that niche, research revenue options, research competition etc.
Build a site around a topic you understand and love.

How would you monetize ?
affiliate products, adspots, lead generation, list building and if you master that niche: create your own digital product and sell it.

for the extension: go for .com :)

don`t spend too much on premium themes and custom designs before you know how to make money with that site. Go with a free WP theme and generate traffic and sales before you spend thousands on design stuff.

I would pay it to a domain broker to sell my 600 domains for at least 60.000 USD within the next 2 years. He or she can keep the domains he won't sell. For free. Untill the 60k revenue is reached he or she won't get anything.

Anybody?

I would wait for the chinese character extentions like .在线, study some chinese in the meantime and register simple keywords. I'll explain myself if anyone thinks it's dumb :p

If you want to invest for longer term, I would buy a quality 4L (CVCV) or 3x CHIP and wait for 6 months+ or right buyer.

If you want to play with the money, then have fun quick flipping liquid domains like crazy.

I personnally went with my second option when I started 6 months ago. Its fun, easy and it makes a nice little secondary income to pay some bills at the end of the month.
