Hi

What was your number one pickup in .tv names and why?

I wasn't paying much attention when I had dropped toners.tv. I had previously owned the name, paid a few hundred for it when I came on the boards in 07.

I was thrilled to see no one grab it, Enom didn't put it on there list and grabbed it.

Reg fee name and the site will be developed in 09 with video content and I will be selling toners online.

Happy camper here. Lesson learned and need to make sure I follow my names more carefully. I begun renewing a couple years out.

What's yours and why?

I think the best non-premium purchase I made this year was Debates.com.

The best premium reg was either scooters.tv or Fund.tv - time will tell.

My best hand reg of 08? Probably PokerNetwork.tv

Good names Richard. You spent 1 million on debates.com lol?

Think you mean debates.tv?

Best premium buy was DIY.tv with Millers (the premium was paid until 2013)

Best non-premium buy was Tourist.TV

WORST name was Knob.TV (I thought it would make a great site for door handles!)

Name I am happiest with (for lots of personal reasons) was Shropshire.TV

Best premium i bought was Chester.tv,

My local City and one i spend lots of time in for many reasons. and i grabbed it before DM went mental and started putting up premiums

My best non premium was Seoul.tv with John .
Although notable mentions for Lincoln.tv,Belgrade.tv and a few local ones that i will develop.

The last 8 months i have spent getting rid of crap and getting names i want, i am now pretty happy with the names i have and the amount of names i have.

Ok lol. I will add a second name. Picked up bird.tv which was cheap and only 250 a year to maintain.

Most of my buys over 2008 were of similar quality so hard to pick out 1.

Since getting a non premium tourist destination Geo is really hard these days then buying Canaries.tv was one i really liked.
Palma.tv at $500 yr was another that meant a great deal to me as my family has close links to Palma & it would be a pleasure to develop.

I m having difficulties to get one name as my favourite, this means that i bought them because i liked them and not because of the current trend.

I d say hard tv is my fav right now.

Best premium, domain.tv - getting almost 100 uniques/day and rising..... Obviously been looking to sell for the right offer as that is what I do. Will seriously consider development partnership if I still own it in a couple of months.

Best non-premium.....Hard to say as I usually flip them ASAP... Of those I still hold I think that would have to be gymnastic.tv. This sold on sedo but the buyer hasn't payed so it looks like it's still going to be in my portfolio at the end of the year.

Best non-premium flip, travelling.tv, purchased for reg fee + $5 and sold for over two grand.

Steal of the year.....(for Ronnie) canaries.tv... Lol .

Worst moment of the year... suffering a power outage during the final minutes bidding for oldham.tv whilst only being 1 of 2 in the private auction. The winner ultimately managed to grab it for peanuts and I had to suffer domainers withdrawl symptoms for over 5hrs before power was restored. D-:

I actually sold comedians.tv for $5k, but it may have been in 07. Don't remember.

Ctack

I think you did it to me yesterday with Rossendale.TV (if that was you)

The pain, I'd actually got a godaddy order THEN the dreaded follow-on e-mail saying someone else got the name first.

You win some you lose some!! - I think the pain of losing the Oldham name was more than soothed by Domain.tv for Len

"Bob and Richard your a trip. You guys should work together and get comedy.tv or comedian.tv together lol."

The humor displayed by several members is refreshing to say the least - Have Fun, Make Money, Help Others - in that order ::}}
