What to make of these Alexa numbers??

All,

I just checked my site with the Alexa toolbar and saw some interesting numbers. I'm not sure how to interpret these numbers, but they don't seem to jive with my stats from GoDaddy.

I wouldnt take them very seriously....I wouldnt take any Alexa rankings outside of 100,000 all that seriously

me too, i dont really care about alexa ranking because it goes with # of visits your sites got ... etc

i only go with google PR and thats it

you need to have at least traffic rank of 100,000 and below

Don't take the Alexa Ranking too seriously. Alexa calculate their ranking by the number of visits from people with the alexa toolbar.

PR is easily manipulated and usualy every bit as much just eye candy as Alexa can be.

Anything higher than 100K alexa is not to be taken seriously just as anything under a PR 5 or 6 is not to be taken seriously.

High PR results are sometimes fake... more than low PR.
I would take seriously PR 2 / 3 / 4 more than PR7...

Anyway, Alexa is another tool to find out traffic results.
My tip is to use at least 3 tools to check it.

Yeah your right about high PRs being faked, but I was referring more to traffic. Just because a site has a PR of, say, 4 or 5 it does not mean that it gets much traffic at all. At least that is my experience.
