Hi all,

I was wondering, what would the pros out there suggest if one were now to invest a small amount of money, say 300 USD, in a domain?

What kind of domain would you suggest? Will 300 dollars take me very far? I suppose not, but it's probably better to get one domain for that price, rather than lots of low-quality ones.

I'd like to receive suggestions, and hear your opinions. I think many might find them helpful.

Thanks!

Matt

That will get you a few dozen regfee names. If you feel comfortable with your ability to brainstorm domains that people will pay an average of at least $10 - $15 for, then I would go down that route. Plus you've got 40 chances of hitting a homerun. Even if you don't get a really nice sale, the top 3 sales can make up for the bottom 37 sales that were around regfee or less. It's really a power in numbers approach.

Buying one domain for $300 in an auction setting usually doesn't leave much room for profit unless you can find an interested resller who missed the auction or an end user. So this is the all or nothing approach.

Investing 300 bucks in one domain really depends on the domain and a bit of luck. It also depends on where you buy from. Caution of advice is don't buy it at a high price from a reseller and get stuck with it in which case you will only end selling it for a loss.
