I'm new to the whole buying and selling domain names. I just bought www.instahosting.com and was wandering about what I should do with it. Keep it and when I have the skills build a hosting company or sell it. What do you think I should do? I'm thinking ok keeping and building.

And if I keep what would be sensible to do as I learn about hosting etc. Should I put ads or something on?

Please help

That sounds like a good idea. Or you could make it into a content site with articles about how to start your own hosting company, or how to find good hosting.

Or you could park it and then sell it to the highest bidder. The domain itself doesn't sound too bad, although I am not one to appraise such things, I am relatively new to domains myself

I'm thinking about doing what bluenoser said, it would be a learning experience and then when the time comes when I have the skills to create a webhosting company I will be well clued up but keep them ideas coming and tell me wheater the above idea is good.

Well there was no competition and I'm not sure if it's finsihed yet.

Would I make more money from parking my domain or from developing a site about hosting and setting up a hosting company?

You would defintely make more money with a content site than with parking. However the hosting company has promise. Except a hosting company inherantly has more work involved. You can forget about a content site for a month or two but if someone has a problem with the hosting you have to help them, or your company gets a bad rep. This would be death since the internet has a long memory especially when webmasters are involved

Yea, in the end I want a hosting company but at the moment I don't have the skills, so I guess I'll have to wait.

I would start building up an article ( content rich ) site now & learn as you go from your own articles. Then once you have enough knowledge you can start the hosting company on the same domain and move the articles into a help section for your clients. Or leave them in a directory on your site. Either way, with enough help docs on hand it should cut down on your support tickets.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks for you advice. I think I'll do what webmark and bluenoser suggested. NP sent.

I would keep the domain name and later develop it when you have enough experience. =)

alot of the free hosts out there that don't put banners on their site puts it on a forum that its members have to join. I think it's a nice idea, cuz the members can then enjoy an ad-free site.

It all depends, can you do PHP and such? If you do I say try hard to get out there and make advertisements and develop it.
