Old school domainer here seeking advice and maybe even a partnership on this portfolio of crypto-related domains.

I'm considering to sell off a chunk of these and use some funds to build up a few of the better ones in this collection. I'm long on bitcoin and blockchain and I feel several of these hold significant potential but I couldnet ever manage all of these sites and I feel they're better served by others with the passion necessary to run some of these domains.

What would you do if you have these domains? Would you spend the money and properly develop them or sell them all off?

I'd start by trying to bundle bunches of the plurals (unless there is a really good one to keep). Once you sell off a chunk, you can refocus on the cream of the crop. But a haircut is needed as you have quite a few and Bitcoin isnt hitting 20K again soon - so the hype is a little slower. Just an opinion and for the record I have way too many of similar bit names as well hahaha.

Personally, I'd hang on to a couple/few of your best blockchain names - they are not necessarily tied to bit

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if I should take the lack of response personally. I tend to agree with you. I have too many of these and I need to sell of a chunk. There is my weakspot. I'm a bit of a domain hoarder at times. I hate letting them go although I have promised myself not to do that with these in particular. For now I am developing the geo targeted domains in the hopes of driving some affiliate signups. I'm looking at dumping some of these as potential blog or news sites that I'll never develop on my own.

You mention packaging them up and it was a thought but how does one go about marketing a group of domains like that? Any brokers out there want to work with me on dumping a couple dozen domains?

Don't think of them as property, consider them assets or liabilities.

Development takes time and focus to be successful. Wouldn't you be better off developing a good name then a group of sub-par names? Unless you're an experienced developer you'd be chasing your tail.

This has been a difficult shift but I'm there. I had quite a wake up to this actually. In the past I had a crap load of keyword rich domains I was forced to let go of. I had a hard time selling them at the time and I was even advised by some they were worthless. A decade later and they're selling for 4 and 5 figures each and I'm still not a millionaire. I'll never let that happen again. Crypto isn't going away. Selling now is probably not the smartest move but I do feel like its a good for time development in the crypto space and moving a few of these now will be better for the longterm goals.

there are some nice domains in there that will make you some money from endusers.. if and when they buy.. resellers will not pay them much.

sadly, imo, the majority of your names is not only without value but also not worth renewing.

all the best.

Finding the time to handle multiple projects, hoping for a future payoff is a problem.

The prices a domain is listed at and sells for aren't the same. If you're having cash-flow problems, maybe you need to adjust your strategy. Spend more to buy fewer domains.

Not worth renewing? Are any of these worth less than BTCbank.org or BTCwallet.co?
Have you had much success selling premium .org and .co domains like those?

i am sorry if my coment or opinion insult you. I did not mean for you to take things personally.

rest assured my wish is for you to get 1 million dollars for each of them. I was making a neutral comment. I have spent a lot of time researching and buying and selling crypto domains. and I am in a good position to talk about them, which I say neutrally as well.

this thread is not about my domains, so I would not be able to talk about my domains here.
however, I assure you that I will not take it personally if you wish to comment on my domains and say for example that all I own is worth nothing and should be dropped today.

I wish you all the best with your names.

Here is an easier way to look at - and I'm convincing myself at the same time. I am a terrible hoarder, in recovery. Just last month I watched over 400 names drop - i wanted to keep them soooo bad. But I set metrics, to run my business by, and had to take the business stance over the personal. and had to realize they just we not sell-able.

If you have the $ to hold, hold everything you can. If you need to redirect some funds - maybe even pick you best name, one that you can sell for XXXX+ and take the renewals aside for the ones you want from the big batch.

Another option to think about.

And no - dont take lack of response personally - I have some threads that have never been replied to - or it was so long after I posted I never noticed it. no biggie - a bump usually helps HAHAHA
