What overture result is worth buying the domain name for type-ins? Say I see "blue widgets" at 200 OVT. If I buy bluewidgets.com, would I get type-ins?

What OVT amount is worth it?
is 30 enough?
100?
500 - 1000?

Thanks for your help.

oh yeah...
and how much type in would you get. What is the formua?

The ones worth buying, depending on your specific needs ... are the ones where there is verifiable traffic / stats for that domain name, IMHO. :gl:
"Overture with extension" should not be the sole barometer when considering the purchase of a domain name, and particulary for important traffic needs in my view.

With the possibility that "Overture with extension" can (have the ability) to be manipulated, there is no set or reliable formula for search terms >> to actual traffic / type-in's (latter of which can only be obtained from hosting / parking the domain and tracking the stats properly). :imho:

All the best!

OVT with extension is kinda a two edged sword. While there is no formula as was said, it seems to work better for typos than anything else. If there is a typo with a high OVT, there is a chance that people are typing it in looking for the real name, and thus would enter the typo in a browser to get your site. If it's not a typo though, it is usually more speculators typing it in to see what the deal is with it. Like I'll type in a domain name complete if I'm interested in buying a domain to see what links it has, etc. However, the stats are the most important and you should always look for that. If you can't get stats, because it's a domain that is unregistered, I'd say keep the typo/non typo thing in mind. Also be wary of domains that are based on time sensitive issues. Like robertblake.com (just an example) may be searched for a lot last month, but forgotten by April.
