I like honest advice:

They're bad.

You might wanna take a look at past sales on DnJournal, or here @ NP, to grasp an idea what kind of names sell. In general, don't buy a lot of names before you're more comfortable with the name biz. It takes time because you have to see hundreds of thousands of names before you start to recognize good names (besides the obvious one word category killers).

In a nutshell, a good name is something that business could be build on, or something that a business could leverage in branding.

Good luck and welcome to NP!

Thank you, Nomen!
I like honest feedback :)
I will study all you are saying, it's really helpful when somebody experienced tell me.
And will see what I can do with these ones in the future.

I can honestly say none of the combined keywords will be typed often enough for those to really ever rank on self propulsion. If they have no traffic just drop them. You can register new many good domains only thing is need find the latest niche keyword and buy up on them or target available industry keywords. eg: wait for the next 360 etc.

Hi Sab,

None of your names make sense to me, like slang. Maybe someone will come along looing for a brandable domain, but imo none of these names are worth reg fee. Market-Wireless is backwards. I reg'd many crappy names, its a learning mistake. If you hadn't rushed in and bought these names, they would still be available. Take your time and think. Who would buy it? Can I start a business with it?
Tribo and mimo mean nothing to me
Wireless-Today is the best one. Do you have any development plans?

:-$
Tribo and mimo is the future tech - multimedia networks...
And what about sharents? (parents who share photos of their children..the future buzzword)
I though just to set there basic content on the topic of the domain name and make SEO :)
I know probably it's naive but I am really beginner - even about SEO....I even didn't plan to be a domainer, but once I bought one, it started to be interesting for me and I want to know and learn more..
I am trying to think who would buy it and what could be there..And I am aware already of some bad domain names I have registered...

sharent.com is better to be used as a brand to find share accommodation.
Revenue perhaps through discount coupons.

1 good name is worth more than 50 bad names. Find a niche you like and search for a real name. Solar? Maybe a geoname where you live. State or city.. I have lots of cannabis names, hemp names, couple solar and 8 geo names like ********NewYork or ********Honolulu
They are long keywords but nowadays 3 word names are common.
Oh and I have about 6 names that are not worth reg fee. Um duh what was I thinking.
Just read lots visit
www.Auctions.godaddy.com start putting terms in search bar. ex. hemp,420,rugs,solar
Ebay has some good aftermarket names.

Check out the history of names at www.web.archive.org

50 bad names can also make a very good name if you have generic saturated keywords both forwards backwards in between and buy all that is left . The good names will gain a lot more strength especially when forcing the industry to buy branded just to trade.

Hi @Sab Welcome to Domaining.
Regarding your first portfolio, FriendlyDevice.com is a great pick.
Good Luck with domaining, never give up, things start selling with the passage of time, all that matters is staying connected with the domaining community & marketing channels.
Best of Luck.

I don't see any of these domains ever sell.
No, they aren't too great. But the problem is not to find 'ok' domains, the problem is to find great domains

Ideally, the domains should be:
  • memorable
  • easy to spell and remember
  • somewhat brandable
  • short enough
  • in a good extension
  • have a clear purpose: good domain names speak for themselves
End users are not going to buy your domains if they can find domains of similar quality available for regfee.
From now on, slow down on the regs, read more, analyze reported sales thoroughly until you start getting 'it'. Domaining is more art than science...

Good luck :)

So true. Enormous difference between a good name and a great name (something that I just recently internalized). To me, a great name, at least in the context of this rant, is something with very few alternatives.

You can buy good names all day long for reg fee. What many don't realize is that there are tons of alternatives for the majority of those otherwise decent names. TONS. Priced all over the place from reg fee to sky is the limit.

Thus, I, myself, try nowadays to only buy names with minimum substitution. As a result, I spend quite a lot of time to find any kind of fault in my prospect names. And 9 out of 10 times, there's always something. The usual case: just too many alternatives, especially with brandables.

In the end, don't reg/buy stuff just because you can. ONLY buy names when you're gone through every possible reason to not to buy it. Otherwise you end up with a portfolio of names that never sell except to other domainers (yes, you can always win the lottery; and probably even will, every now and then).

I echo the thoughts of others, that these domains are mostly crap. As for sharent.com, I read that as ShareNT.com. You might find something in The Free Dictionary, Acronyms, here http://acronyms.tfd.com/NT

Hi and welcome.

As others have said the names are not great but don't worry because you are not alone.

Many of the " pros " who go around telling others off have crappy names, (if you want to have fun give a look at their portfolios ), are at a loss ( but they will never tell you ) and haven't understood what a good domain is yet ( but they feel entitled to give golden advice to others ), so please think with your head and follow your intuition but only after having learnt the most you can from here and anywhere else you can.

Secondly as a rule of thumb I wouldn't make " new trends " my everyday bread : yes they can have a high return but they certainly are a very high risk investment and they can be very pricey as you will probably have to renew them for many years before they turn into something that is not a future possible trend.

Third : GREAT names...I mean the ones with the capital G are all taken and almost anyone here in the forum could ever afford any of them.
What is good in the domain industry is not as clear as in the other industries considering that one of the sentence you will hear the most is " a domain is only worthy what someone is willing to pay for it " which is imo total BS. As if you can go to a Ferrari car dealer and tell them " well...you know what..I am offering 1000$ for this model and that's what the value is ". Does it make sense to you?

The real issue is that the domain industry is a big big bubble where 95% of the domains ( especially emds ) are sold from domainer to domainer not to end users. Brandables, on the other side, most of the time are bough by end users and this is the reason why there are less sales and it seems they are not as valuable. Just remove the domainers variable from the emds sales equation and you will see by yourself how tiny the number of the " real " sales is.

Getting back to your domains I think that
FriendlyDevice is a good name but you will probably have to develop it
and SHARENT is a nice brandable in a competitive niche so you might be lucky with that too.

I wish you all the best

Hi everyone!
I didn't study domaining yet, but I cannot help myself:
I registered deleted domains:
pieretto.com
tokemon.com
dolpie.com

There is available also skybob.com if somebody wants

Maybe they are a little better and more actual? (brandable?) Or I am still choosing bad?

..and added all my .com domains on afternic.com, sedo.com, flippa.com just for fun to see if something will happen :) i will inform you if I sell something :-D

If your keen on buying pockets burning holes i will suggest the used market and buy names with some traffic if you do that even without knowledge you might do okay. We can't make this the how too thread just rate what you bought. I rate these new ones at $0 the tokemon if you plan on going 420 with it might even land you in hot water.
