What do you think is the worst extension out there and why?

.asia - although i have two .asia domains. :D

I think any more than 3 letter extensions are worst.

.com

Easily the worst :hehe:

(I am just kidding; .com is the best and my favourite, but it had to be said ;))

i'll say .aero and .museum .. they are not even listed in the TLD dropdown at dnsaleprice.com

.info
.name
.tel
.travel..

Never been able to sell any domain of these extensions

.hu
You must fill out a paper, and send it to a registrator (via fax(!) or mail (!!!)). If you register as an individual, you must wait 2 weeks (!) after your order arrived. If no-one complains about the name, you'll get it after this 2 week period. If the needed domain is exactly the same as the name of your company, this period is shorter, less than a week. The only problem is that you have to present tons of papers about your firm.

.hu isn't all that bad if you use the right registrar. I agree that the reg process is somewhat slow, but we've had far less problems with .hu compared to some of the registrars in south america.

The worst extension overall - All upcoming, useless extensions. Good useless examples are listed here. Except the .eco extension. I'm all pro environment ;)

Everything but .com is the worst extension ever! (well in 98% of the cases)

.name and .tel for sure as these extensions mostly used for personal development and if you resell it, you will get nothing for sure.

.tel because you are restricted to what telnic gives you.

I think the worst extensions are the lesser tier gTLD. Any popular ccTLD has at least a decent use being tied to the country.

COM/NET/ORG all have credibility. INFO is alright in certain situations. That leaves .BIZ as the odd one out of the major extensions.

But, there is still value in certain premium terms, and terms that fit the extension well.

Those are just the major extensions. There are others like .MOBI, .ME, .ASIA, .TV, .TEL, .IM, .Travel, etc.
More than likely none of these will ever have massive credibility.

Since .tel was basically stillborn, I would have to classify it as the worst extension ever concieved.

The registras would've loved it though. So as a sucking your wallet dry extension, it was probably a raging success.

I tend to agree that it was the worst conceived. What is this 1994?

Everything aside from dot com.

I don't agree with you.most people are accustomed to using com, net and org equally (if your claim was true, wikipedia would be in a lot of trouble). It's only the other gTLD and ccTLD's which people neglect knowledge of. Even when you take that into account most people type a website into Google (even the URL) to find what they want, the address bar seems to be something most people just don't use anymore!

for me its .name and some other cctld extensions. They are of no use and not worth it
