Anyone here think NN-NN.com's -or- LL-LL.com's will catch on? or, what..

I decided to spend about $55 just incase it did.. On domains like 44-44.net

I am not to sure either way.. if they will or won't.. Seems like a lot of people are registering them..

Especially if you had domains like aa-aa or bb-bb

Why not just invest your $55 into something that you know will get big(ger), LLLL.coms.

its the excitement

plus, $55 will not buy a premium llll.com I would need thousand or so for that..

And, besides the .net extension on these.. They would be considered top premium domains for nn-nn and ll-ll domains.

opps 100 posts ^^^^

LL-LL? A pure collectible. Who will use it?

This question (who might use the domain) should be the first to put when registering a domain.

Besides, you invested $55 now, but you will need to reinvest $55 next year too, and $55 two years after.

While, it is better to buy a good domain for $60 now and invest $7 next year and so on.

All these countdowns had just negative effect, and people register domains without questioning them.

Who will pay you more for 44-44.com? I don't know. Can't see any company using that for their brand.

The .com's of such names go back to 1998/99 in many cases - it's a potential area for investment, and numbers are as international as you can get so a very wide potential audience.

I have a few similar names including 00-01.com which gets around 70/80 a month

Caution is, as always, advised .com in this case is most definitely king and .net is a long way behind.

I agree. these types of domains are "brandable" and brandability goes with the main extention. I for example as much as I love .org and even .info, will never buy brandable domains in these tld's.

And I love brandable's too. But they go well with .com.

Agreed,

My philosophy is 5 letter brandables in .com (LLLLL.com) and Generic single keywords in .org, is the way to go in domaining, oh and very high quality 4 letter LLLL.com, I like those too

I totally agree, there are far better usuable generics still available at that price IMO.

Even very strong 2 keyword hyphen domains are a loooong shot but at least they are very usable and have a few advantages to them. (but I only ever buy them if the keywords are really really strong)

I prefer to follow the news more than follow domain fads :tu:
